Spring is finally here. We’re pretty sure your to-do list already feels a mile long, but we have a few things that might save you some trouble and keep you comfortable in the months to come. The weather is going to start heating up in Rocky Mount and the last thing you want is to discover is that you need AC repair. Going through this quick checklist now could save you from sweating this summer.

  1. Look at Your Air Filter and Ducts
Swapping your air filter makes it to almost each and every single of our lists of pointers because it's so important and so often overlooked. If your air filter is filthy, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfy. This costs you more money and causes more wear and tear which diminishes the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are an additional piece of the puzzle that is often neglected as well. While you're spring cleaning, pull off the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers removed, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and switch them after they've dried.
  2. Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units free of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can impact your system and cause it to lower its efficiency.
  3. Arrange Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we come in to help you work on that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up helps improve the life of your system and keeps it running at peak efficiency. Spring is the ideal time to set up your tune-up so any issues or AC repair that needs to be made can be handled before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a little investment into the lifecycle of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.

We can't help you with your entire spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to ensure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to schedule your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 540-483-5605.
